WHERE TO STAY
Zoe Hora
We'd recommend staying here, it's where the wedding will take place!
Please text +355 69 338 0962 via WhatsApp to book your room (you will be texting our wedding planner, Ina, who is handling the bookings). Do not book online as the room will not show up. When booking your room, please let Ina know that you are with the Abitbol/Kosova wedding.
Drymades Inn
If you'd prefer to stay on the beach, this is the place to be! We will have a shuttle from Drymades Inn to Zoe Hora for the wedding.

TRAVEL
Getting to Dhermi
You can fly into the airport in Tirana, Albania. If you are not on a flight that gets into Tirana early in the morning, we'd recommend spending the night in Tirana and then taking a taxi to Dhermi the following morning. Taxis are widely available in Dhermi, including to the beach - if you are going to be getting to Dhermi a few days early, you can easily rely on taxis to take you around (it's our preferred mode of transportation when we travel to Albania).
You can also fly into Corfu International Airport, take the ferry to Saranda, and then a taxi to Dhermi. The "Questions" tab has more details on this option!
For those of you traveling to the wedding from outside of Albania, we will be in touch with transportation details (i.e., what taxi company to use from the airport, getting to Dhermi from Tirana, and taxi companies when in Dhermi).
FAQs
Should I rent a car?
We do NOT recommend renting a car. The easiest way to get to Dhermi and back to Tirana is by private transfer (taxi or van). The trip from Dhermi to Tirana will take around 3 hours. If you are planning on getting to Dhermi a few days early or staying a few days after the wedding, you can easily rely on a taxi to take you around Dhermi or anywhere else you are planning to visit.
Do I have to fly into the Tirana airport?
No! You can fly into Corfu International Airport in Greece and then take a 1 hour ferry to Saranda, Albania, followed by a 1.5 hour taxi ride to Dhermi. We've never done this but know others who have and they enjoyed the trip.
Any specific flight I should take?
We like to travel with Lufthansa or British Airways when we travel to Albania but it's up to you! If you plan to travel straight to Dhermi from the airport, make sure you land in Tirana in the morning - this will give you time to travel to Dhermi. If you get to Tirana in the afternoon or evening, then we'd recommend staying in Tirana overnight and traveling to Dhermi in the morning. Tirana has a ton of good food and bars in the city center (see more below!).
Things to do in Tirana?
If you are spending the day in Tirana, this blog does a great job highlighting our favorite things to do in the city (https://wander-lush.org/one-day-in-tirana-itinerary/). For food, we'd recommend checking out Hana Cafe Tirana for breakfast and a coffee, Mullixhiu for lunch, and Era Restaurant for dinner. If you're staying in Tirana, the Blloku neighborhood is the place to be - Arte Boutique Hotel is our favorite place to stay. Lot Boutique Hotel is another great option.
Things to do in Dhermi?
If you want to venture beyond your hotel, here are a few things we've loved:
Old Town - if you are staying at Zoe Hora, you are in the Old Town of Dhermi. There's plenty to see just by walking the narrow cobble-stone streets. You'll find old Orthodox churches and town squares. Our favorite view is from the Monastery of St. Mary. The stairs leading up to the church basically start at the entrance to Zoe Hora; it's a quick five minutes up to the church.
Drymades Beach - the beach at Drymades is a beautiful pebble-beach. Bring water shoes, these are a must for your feet! If you are staying at Drymades Inn, you'll just walk out of your room onto the beach. If you are staying at Zoe Hora, it's a quick 10 minute taxi to the beach at Drymades Inn - there, you'll find a beach club with towels, chairs, and a fun bar.
Gjipe Beach - this beach is in a canyon; we love swimming here. You can book a short taxi from the hotel to take you to Gjipe; the taxi will stop in a parking lot and then you'll have a really pretty 25 minute walk down to the canyon on a well-marked, easy to walk, dirt-covered path. Once you get to the beach, you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas. Again, bring water shoes! You'll also find several small restaurants on the beach serving fresh seafood.
What currency should I bring?
Lots of places accept cards and tap to pay now but we'd recommend bringing cash to be safe depending on what activities you have planned. You can use either Lek or Euros in Albania - we always use Euros.
What taxi should I take to Dhermi?
If you are flying into Albania from the United States or France, we will also be reaching out to you with transportation recommendations!
For those flying into Tirana, we recommend Sky Taxi. They will be waiting for you at the airport and bring you to Dhermi (or Tirana if you are staying a night in Tirana). You can call them on WhatsApp at +355 68 800 0075.
